Rotala Rotundifolia ‘Laos’
Rotala Rotundifolia ‘Laos’
Feast your eyes on this new and rare Rotala Rotundifolia variant , Rotala Rotundifolia Laos. This variant seems to have thin and long leaves, and having a curl/whorl. To imagine the characteristics, take a mix of the characteristics of the curl in Rotala Macranda Yerabje, the color of Rotala Macranda Bangladesh, and the thinner leaves of a Rotala Mexicana variant. If you have seen Rotala Rotundifolia ‘Periya,’ it looks very similar to this one (in the same bushy growth).
This variant features a yellow-green tone to the leaves , especially in higher light and with nitrate limitation. It seems to be a very easy growing plant, alike other R. Rotundifolia variants.
This light green / yellow-green variant of Rotala was found in Laos. For its best performance, it is recommended to use CO2, good fertilization methods, and high light. However, it can still grow in many other conditions and environments.
As of recently, we have noticed we are the only ones with true Rotala Rotundifolia ‘Laos’ in the United States. Again, we recommend looking for the key characteristics of the leaves.
