A planted aquarium light should suit the aquarium’s length, front-to-back width and depth. A fixture that fits the rim may still provide different coverage at the corners or substrate. Start with the size guidance on the specific WEEK AQUA product page, then consider plant placement, mounting height and the light demands of your layout.

Build a balanced lighting routine.

Useful aquarium lighting is about consistency as well as brightness. Many WEEK AQUA models offer adjustable channels and schedules through the manufacturer’s app; the available controls depend on the model. Match intensity to the plants, CO₂ supply and nutrient routine, then make gradual adjustments rather than changing several settings at once.

A longer day is not a substitute for the right intensity or coverage. Start conservatively in a new planted tank, watch how the plants establish and keep maintenance consistent. Pair your light with suitable CO₂ equipment and aquarium fertilizers when your planting plan calls for them.

How long should planted aquarium lights be on each day?

A useful starting point is about 5–6 hours for a newly planted tank. Established lower-tech planted tanks often suit around 7–8 hours. Adjust to plant response and algae pressure, and use a consistent daily schedule. Duration and intensity need to be considered together.

Which size WEEK AQUA light should I choose?

Measure the aquarium’s length, width and depth, then compare them with the selected model’s tank-size guidance and mounting options. For a wide or deep aquarium, ask us about coverage before choosing purely by fixture length.

Can I grow aquarium plants with an LED light?

Yes, when the fixture provides suitable intensity and coverage for the species. Plant selection matters: demanding carpets and dense stem layouts need a different setup from a low-light aquarium of slow growers.

Does a brighter light mean I need CO₂?

Not every planted aquarium needs injected CO₂. However, strong lighting can increase growth demands. Match the light to your plants and carbon supply; reducing intensity is often more useful than running a powerful fixture at maximum output.

Are stands, hanging kits and shades included?

Check the selected product and variant’s included-items list. Many accessories are sold separately and are model-specific. Match the fixture, mounting method and aquarium glass thickness before ordering.
