Cryptocoryne Spiralis 'Jwala' is an exotic and stunning variety of Cryptocoryne, known for its long, narrow, and twisted leaves that display a striking green coloration with hints of brown and reddish hues under optimal conditions. This Cryptocoryne hails from India and is named 'Jwala,' meaning "flame" in Hindi, referencing its distinctively curled and flame-like leaf structure. Its spiral-shaped leaves add dynamic movement to an aquascape, making it a popular choice among aquarists seeking to introduce texture and height to their planted tanks. Despite its impressive appearance, Cryptocoryne Spiralis 'Jwala' remains relatively rare in the aquarium hobby, adding to its allure and making it a prized plant for collectors.

This species can grow quite tall, reaching heights of up to 50 cm (20 inches), which makes it ideal for the background or midground placement in an aquascape. Cryptocoryne Spiralis 'Jwala' thrives in a variety of water conditions but, like most Crypts, it prefers stable parameters with slightly acidic to neutral pH and moderate lighting. While not particularly demanding, it can benefit from a nutrient-rich substrate and regular fertilization. Its slow to moderate growth rate means that it does not require frequent maintenance, making it an excellent choice for hobbyists who want a visually appealing plant without high upkeep demands.

This plant was brought in originally from the Sreepadma GroWoW! series tissue cultures.
